Vendor Reviews

We had the time of our lives in Vegas! Our wedding wouldn't have been nearly as successful as it was had it not been for the Vegas knotties--so, many thanks for the help along the way!

Mandalay Bay THEhotel: A
We stayed in THEsuite for 4 days; it was an amazing room—the bathroom was exceptional! My only gripe about the hotel itself was that there wasn’t much “room.” The suite was rather large, insofar as it had a separate living room from the bedroom—but, there wasn’t much walking space. Throw a giant wedding dress into the mix, and it was hard to maneuver around all of the furniture. All in all, it was wonderful—and it was amazing to stay in the same hotel in which our wedding was held. They responded to all of our late night requests (i.e. we needed a vacuum with a hose the night before we left, so I could vacuum seal my wedding dress to pack it in my luggage!)—perfectly happy with the hotel.

Burger Bar in Mandalay Bay---B+
We held our meet and greet dinner at Burger Bar; we had about 23 people there. Lisa was responsible for setting up our reservations—and was pleasant to work with. I was under the assumption that by having made a reservation for such a large group, we would have a secluded from the rest of the restaurant—however, we were not. In fact, they merely put tables together in a long row—which made it difficult to speak to our guests (not to mention it was incredibly loud). In making a reservation for that many people, we had to pick up the tab. Our original plan was to have the meet and greet be paid for by the guests, so this meal was not an expense we had planned for. Keep in mind if you use Burger Bar for a large group, they will use a “special menu”—which is great, except no prices are listed on the menu the night of (so guests were not aware that adding items such as extra toppings, cheese, fries, etc. actually cost a great deal more). On the plus side, however, the food was great.

Glamsquad---A+
I cannot say enough about this company!! I had originally booked them for hair and airbrush makeup for my sister and me month prior to my wedding. A week before, I contacted them and asked to adjust the time they were to arrive by an hour—and they were more than accommodating (and called to double check once I had arrived in Vegas, and again the day of my wedding). The day of, Nisha was the stylist who showed up—and she went right to work setting my hair, and then my sisters. She was incredibly personable—and her work, well, it spoke for itself. My makeup was flawless—even the next day! I normally have dark circles under my eyes, but—heck, they were nowhere to be found. And she took a picture that I was iffy about for my hair, and turned it into something beautiful. I’d recommend her (and Glamsquad) many times over.

Todd from Bently & Wilson—A+
Granted, I do not have my photos back, but (even if I never see a single shot) Todd was simply wonderful. He showed up right on time, and went straight to work snapping away. Never once was he intrusive, or awkward. He gladly offered suggestions—and gladly went along with our stupid suggestions (i.e. let’s get everyone out to the Vegas sign in the pouring rain, and hey! Look! It’s a Starbucks, let’s get some—and take pictures of it!). Luckily, after 7 hours of work, he did take us up on our offer to eat—and sat down with the rest of our guests, and chatted away as if he knew everyone; it was very comforting. He stayed well past 9pm—and, gosh darn it, he was just a wonderful guy! We’re so glad we went with Todd, and cannot wait to see our pictures.

Mandalay Bay THEchapel—A
We chose THEchapel (the cheapest package) because the pictures of it were just amazing. There was no way we could have imagined how beautiful it was. Alyssa was our WC—and, well, not much to say one way or the other; we never ended up meeting her in person. The woman who was in charge the day of was a bit pushy—if anyone left the “bridal room” at any time (for any reason), they were always told to go right back in (other weddings were in progress). They didn’t have a problem with my bouquets that I had made on Etsy—which I was slightly worried about. Our package came with a garter, bottle of champagne, and toasting flutes---all of which we received in a bag on our way out which I thought was odd (all of the items seemed like they would have been more useful prior to…and would have been nice had they been delivered to our room). The chapel was beautiful, hands down. I would not have been happy elsewhere!

Maggiano’s Little Italy—A+
Where do I start? Well, I didn’t want to have our reception anywhere else after hearing what the knotties before me had to say about it—and, without a doubt, they were right. Marc and Cassy were both wonderful to work with, and always super quick to respond to any and all questions. We ended up with the Calabria room—4 tables, and a sweetheart table for just us—and the room looked amazing. I dropped off all of our little odds and ends the day before (table numbers, favors, etc.) and quickly told them how I wanted it set up (I didn’t even think to write it down)—and it was set up exactly how I described it the next day. They took care of every little thing imaginable. Kannon was our “banquet manager,” and she did an absolutely fabulous job taking care of us all night long. The offered to box up any food (as well as our cupcakes) we wanted, and provided us with the best possible reception—without a doubt. Our guests raved about the food!!

Retro Bakery LV--A+
Amazing. Hands down, amazing.  Brian and Kari were both fantastic to work with, and the price could not be beat--we ended up getting 4 dozen mini cupcakes (which meant we were allowed to choose 8 different flavors; 2 per dozen!)--and two regular sized cupcakes for our "cake toppers" to be placed on. I had originally planned to pick up the cupcakes on my own (to avoid delivery charge) while I was out there dropping off my cake toppers---but, was running around like crazy and decided to spring for the delivery to avoid some extra running around--and, well, since they were already making deliveries to the strip--they delivered my cupcakes on the house! The cupcakes were such a big hit with everyone; I cannot recommend Retro Bakery LV enough!

All Night Long DJ’s—A+
The name of our DJ escapes me, but she was absolutely wonderful. We weren’t going to go with a DJ to begin with, but it ended up fitting in perferctly with our room minimum at Maggiano’s, and I’m so glad we did. It was great to have someone introduce us, introduce the speeches, and introduce the dances. She played quite and contemporary music during the meals, and was ridiculously accommodating to our weird requests when we all started drinking and dancing at the end of the night. Having a DJ might not have been something we had planned on originally, but I’m so happy with how it all turned out.

Lucky Limousine—A
Having a limo was also not something we had planned on—not because we didn’t want one, but because we didn’t think we could afford one. However, we were pleasantly surprised with how affordable they were—and, the cost also went towards our room minimum at Maggiano’s. We ended up with a 28-person limo/bus for two hours before the reception, and two hours afterwards. The two hours before allowed us to take all of our guests out to the Vegas sign for pictures—and to Paris for pictures as well. The two hours afterwards allowed for two round trips back to the hotel—so some of the guests that didn’t wish to stay the whole time were able to have transportation back to their hotel.

Pam from the Pallet—A
Pam was great to work with, and—again—the cost of our flowers went towards our room minimum at Maggiano’s. I wish I could tell you how they looked—but, I honestly can’t remember. I know the room looked great, so I’ll just sum it all together—I’m sure once we get pictures back, I will have my memory refreshed!

Deb at Fit For a Bride—A
I dropped my dress, crinoline, and sister’s dress off the day before the wedding—and had no problems. Debbie called me later that day to let me know I actually owed more money than I had been charged because my dress was “couture.” However, I was simply going on the designer of my dress—and my dress was not from his “couture” line—so, I was less than thrilled about the extra charge—but, no biggy. My dress looked amazing, as did my criny---especially considering both had been vacuum sealed in Space Bags to get them to Vegas!

Cashman Photography—A +
I thought I was going to be annoyed with Cashman, and the fact that I couldn’t have Todd take the pictures during the ceremony—but, honestly? If the only pictures I had from my wedding were the ones they had taken, I’d be okay. They took over 100 pictures in a half an hour, and they were all fantastic—some even look like they were from a magazine. When we went in the day after the wedding to look at the pictures, they already had them all printed out in 4x6’s, one printed 8x10 framed, and a photo book already put together (which I ended up buying). It was sad to think that the pictures we didn’t select for our package would presumably end up in the garbage (what the heck else would they do with them?). We bought a few extra 4x6’s (they were $10 each! Yikes!)---and the photobook ($95), and it was all money well spent, if you ask me!
